What the app hears
During a call, Layup takes two audio streams on your Mac: your microphone, and the Mac's audio output, which is where the other side of the call comes from. Both are transcribed live, as the call happens. The audio is used for transcription and nothing else.
Audio is never recorded or stored
Layup does not save audio. Not on your Mac, not on our servers. The streams are transcribed as they arrive and discarded. There is no recording to download, replay, or leak.
What is kept, as text
- The transcript of each call, as text.
- The report card the coach writes afterward: the score, the Qualified Prospect check with the buyer's quoted words, what worked, what to improve, and the follow-up draft.
- Your script and call brief for that session.
These live in your account, tied to your sign-in. Nobody else on the invite list can see them.
Retention and deletion
Transcripts and report cards are dropped after 90 days by default. You can delete any call, or all of them, with one click, and the deletion is immediate.
Accounts
You sign in with Google. Layup is invite-only right now, so your address has to be on the list before sign-in works. We keep your name, your email address, and usage counts per person. We do not sell any of it.
The other side of the call
The prospect is being transcribed too. In several states that requires their consent, and in all of them it is the decent thing to say. The value-selling template includes a one-sentence consent line near the top of the call. Say it.
Hiding the overlay
The coaching overlay can be hidden from screen shares and recordings with one switch. That keeps what you see on your side of the glass. It does not change anything about transcription or storage.
Practice mode
Practice calls are with an AI prospect, not a person. They are stored and graded the same way as real calls, as text, under the same retention and deletion rules.
Questions
If you have a question about any of the above, or want something deleted sooner than the button allows, write to us and we will do it.
